The fourth grade classes have started playing kazoos, much to the alarm and dismay of Miss Jordan and Mr. Sisk. Fortunately the kazoos can be played only in the music class now, since none of the students have purchased one. Be forewarned: that may change in the future. Many of the students have asked about buying a kazoo for their very own.

Why a kazoo? After all, it is just a toy, right? The kazoo teaches pitch recognition to the students. They have to match their pitch to the correct pitch in the music. This skill is vital for all musicians, and learning it at a young age helps students to develop as musicians quickly. The only skill required for the kazoo is humming, and almost anyone can do that.

So in the future you can expect to hear the joyous and mellifluous sound of kazoos wafting over the campus of Liberty Traditional Charter School.

I apologize beforehand.

Whimsically,

Mr. Deyton
